Want to live longer with less stress? Nurture Your Spirit!
I was inspired to write this blog after a call with a client who achieved a phenomenal physical transformation and wanted to explore their spiritual self. I believe once you feel good physically you’ll then be able to focus on the intellectual, emotional and spiritual aspects of your life.
What exactly is your spirit?
Your Spiritual Self is your wisdom. It’s the essence of who you are and it’s the only un-programmed aspect of your self. It holds your intuition, your resilience and your connection to something greater. It has authentic qualities that include unconditional love, creativity, patience, acceptance, compassion and forgiveness.
How do you nurture it?
With a daily conscious practice. Yoga, meditation, visualization, affirmations, appreciation and gratitude, compassion and forgiveness are all forms of exercises for your spirit. And all of them have physical and emotional benefits such as lowering blood pressure, increasing serotonin levels (improved mood!), decreasing anxiety and developing intuition, to name a few.
Why should you nurture your spirit?
Being connected to something greater gives you purpose. Every one of us needs to feel like we’re making a difference, no matter how big or small, in the world or in someone else’s life. When you have a reason to get out of bed every day, you’re going to live longer.
Nurture your spirit, reduce your stress and live a longer, fuller life. You deserve it!
